Volunteers Needed to Help Finish the Disc Golf Course at the North Tahoe Regional Park

On Saturday, April 29, 2007 local high school junior Brian Rienstra will be working to complete his Eagle Scout Project with the help of his troop, Tahoe City Boy Scout Troop 266.  His community service project is to help put the finishing touches on the first 9 holes of the Disc Golf Course at the North Tahoe Regional Park.  Brian and his troop are looking for volunteers to come and help with this project.  The baskets are in and the tees are nearly complete; all that is left is to build trails to the tees and baskets and put in signs.  The work day is scheduled for April 29, 2007 to complete the trails and signs.
Volunteers will help rake the trails, clear brush and debris, and put in sign posts.  Volunteers will meet at 9 AM in the upper parking lot at the North Tahoe Regional Park and should come prepared with work clothes, gloves and sunscreen.  A hamburger BBQ lunch will be provided at the Ramada Picnic Area in the Park.  The food for the BBQ has been generously donated by the Kings Beach Safeway.  Lunch will be served around noon and afterwards we will finish working or play a round of disc golf if we finish the work in the morning.
An Eagle Scout Community Service Project is the final requirement towards earning Eagle, the highest rank in Scouting. An Eagle Scout Project demonstrates the Scout’s leadership skills. It shows the Scout’s commitment to helping his community through volunteer service. The project must be a substantial help the Scout’s local community.
